Snow obscures Clarke’s view as she trudges across a dark floe of ice toward the distant beacon of the AstroBug.

A concerned Dyson calls over the comm-system.
DYSON (COMM VOICE) " Darcy, come in. You doing okay? "

CLARKE " Yeah... I’m fine. "

Clarke takes stock of her overwhelming surroundings. She turns to look back at the AeroFox to see how far she's come.

CLARKE " It's just... This place... This planet... "

Lightning strikes a mountain top creating a huge CLAP of thunder that reverberates through the area!

Clarke is increasingly terrified. She swivels to refocus on the remote AstroBug.

Clarke looks up. Through a break in the clouds, brilliant swaths of blue AURORAE cascade across the sky.

Immobilized by the sensory overload, she places her hands over her ears and falls to her knees!

CLARKE (CONT’D) " God... Make it stop! "

Desperate, Dyson attempts to console her from afar.

Seated at the science station, Dyson tries to calm her.

A distant rumble can be heard. Clarke takes her hands away from her head and looks around.

CLARKE " You hear that? "

DYSON (COMM VOICE) " Hear what? "

Clarke looks over at the nearby volcano to her left.
Reel 2: 094—05
She reaches for her Laser Ranger. Pulling it to her eyes, she witnesses a spectacular burst of LAVA from its summit.

A resultant QUAKE causes cracks in the surrounding ice.

Clarke is knocked to the ground! She loses her grip on the Laser Ranger and it clatters onto the frozen surface.

CLARKE (COMM VOICE) " Yeah. That volcano. It's causing quakes. Oh my god, the AstroBug... "

Clarke grabs the binoculars and frantically looks over at the beacon of the AstroBug.

It remains slanted but stable.

DYSON The lightning strike destroyed his quantum matrix.
