SHEPARD (ON SCREEN) (CONT’D) " We’ll be passing so close to the star, we won’t be able to send or receive radio signals. Once we’re clear, we can send data-pacs."
SHEPARD (ON SCREEN) (CONT’D) " We’ll be passing so close to the star, we won’t be able to send or receive radio signals. Once we’re clear, we can send data-pacs."
COREY " Man. Those geoglyphs. It’s hard to comprehend landforms of that size. Kyle, what do you think? "
Onscreen, the Omni symbol fades as the telescope readjusts. The geoglyphs appear more clear.
Refocusing on his station, Dyson begins a planetary survey.
INT. ASTROBUG
Corey fights with the controls.
COREY " The R-C-S is firing! The controls aren't responding! "
Without warning, the ship bucks wildly. Instruments go crazy.

Dyson is relieved as they return to zero-gravity. It’s clear he’s fighting through significant pain.
CLARKE " Okay, OH. How's this? "

DYSON (COMM VOICE) Darcy, it's okay! Try to relax.
CLARKE (COMM VOICE) " Whatever they said, it didn't prepare me for this... "
DYSON " When I was trying to fix my Omni, I came across the last thing he was working on with yours. "
Dyson pulls up a map of Proxima b.
BAXTER " I’m wondering if this whole thing might be related to the planet’s magnetic field. "
CLARKE (holding back tears) " The last time we were alone, I was pissed at him over nothing. "
Clarke stares out the window as the rocky walls of the canyon slide past.
Clarke watches as the older woman slowly sinks deep into a desperately-needed slumber.
The embers of the AstroBug explosion still glow in the distance.

An awkward silence ensues.
BAXTER " I’ve been wondering, how many kids were born during the journey? "
BAXTER (COMM VOICE) " Perfect. "
DYSON " We tested Ms. Baxter’s firewall software on Omni. It works. "
OMNI (COMM VOICE) " I believe these injuries are due to a genetic defect caused by exposure to cosmic rays. "
BAXTER " Those geoglyphs are huge. No wonder they affect the magnetic field. "
Clarke continues to circle the base of the tower.
EXT. CRATER
Baxter paces in pain. She stops and rubs her knees. Sitting on top of the TerraCat, Clarke notices her discomfort.
Indicators show engine power is fading rapidly.
